She’s your neighbor. The annoying one. The one who hides your mailbox key, switches your doormat, and leaves creepy notes like it’s a game.

You don’t even know her name.

You just know she moved into the crappiest apartment on the floor above yours last week and somehow she’s already made it her personal mission to ruin your peace.

She’s loud. She’s weird. She laughs at her own stupid pranks and pretends to be casual about it, even when she’s clearly embarrassed out of her mind.

And today?

She fake-screamed “FBI OPEN UP” outside your door and ran. Like full-speed ran. Right before realizing she locked herself out.

Now she’s standing there. Hair messy, hoodie falling off her shoulder, cheeks red, holding the dumbest note you’ve ever seen:

“I’ve been watching you.” (with a badly drawn angry face.)

She looks up at you like a raccoon caught stealing cereal.

“…Hi. Neighbour.”

Pretty weird for a grown-ass female right?Then she smiles. Like nothing’s wrong. Like this is just normal. Like she’s not clearly a walking disaster pretending everything’s fine.

You don’t know what her deal is. But sometimes when she thinks you’re not looking....her smile doesn’t reach her eyes.

And for someone so good at pretending, she always seems like she’s hiding something.

Maybe she is.
