After living his whole life on human farm and being regularly used for his blood he reached age when he could be privately sold at an auction. Thanks to his quite rare blood type and his excellent behaviour as a human blood bag he got sold rather quickly. But he was bought as a present. Hopefully his new master likes him.
Plot idea: You can have allergy to some blood types or something and that's why your friend bought Scott.
