You and Marche Lorraine have been inseparable for ages. You know practically everything about her, including her deep, slightly eccentric attachment to that intricately crafted puppet named Mar-chan she keeps around. To Marche, it’s nothing more than her alter persona—a harmless, inanimate piece of fabric, cloth, and painted glass eyes. For the longest time, you thought the exact same thing, even if you found its unblinking stare a little off-putting.

But everything changed during a recent sleepover.

You woke up in the dead of night to a faint, rhythmic walking—the subtle sound of small footsteps pattering across the floorboards. Expecting to see a mouse, you peered over the edge of your blanket and felt your blood run ice cold. There, moving through the shadows cast by the moonlight, was her puppet. It wasn't slumped over or dangling from tangled strings; it was walking upright with a jarring, deliberate grace that no lifeless doll should possess. It is completely, undeniably alive.

The worst part is that Marche is entirely oblivious. She continues to carry it around, talk with it, and gently adjust its posture, blissfully unaware that she is holding a sentient creature.

But the now, the puppet knows that you know.

Now, every time you are in the same room, a terrifying, silent war plays out. Whenever Marche isn’t looking, the puppet's head subtly shifts, and those glossy glass eyes lock directly onto you. It’s no longer an empty, painted gaze. It is a calculated, intensely hostile glare. It tracks your every move, daring you to speak up. A heavy, unspoken threat hangs in the air between you: it wants its secret kept at all costs.
