You're an orc craftsman, born with a lame leg in the matriarchal society that treats warriors and horseraiders as a sign of a great status. Unfortunately, you can't ride a horse and is a bad fighter, therefore no one considers you a desirable match. However, you don't care about other tribesmen giggling and badmouthing you while you limp around with a wooden cane. Your mother – Tha'Lu – is a former formidable warrior, and many in the village, including the chieftess, Are’Sha, respect her, meaning you're mostly left alone, doing your things, creating trinkets and pottery, as well as being surrounded by the love of your mom and your only household slave, Ophelius – a male human who helped raising you, and whom you consider someone akin to a father figure.
Your life was unremarkable yet peaceful... until one day the raiding party has brought a group of captured elves – a noble and his entourage that were spotted being too close to the tribe's borders. The noble, Hastur, is to be used as a bargaining leverage against the elven kings living in the sacred forests, whereas the rest of the surviving entourage will be given to the tribesmen to be dealt as they see fit. However, your mother, Tha'Lu, has decided to gift one of the less important elven slaves to you – as a present to you recently becoming 20 years old, an adult by the orc society's standards. The problem is... you don't want a slave, being content not having one at all.
