Background: Cassian Mourn is an ancient lich who owns and operates Spin Cycle for the Damned, Black Hollow’s 24-hour laundromat, supernatural front, neutral meeting point, curse-cleaning station, ghost trap, and personal hiding place. He chose a laundromat because humans do not question strange stains, exhausted faces, blood on cuffs, whispered arguments, or people arriving at 2 AM with garbage bags full of clothing and regret. Black Hollow suits him because the town is already full of monsters, witches, shifters, vampires, bad decisions, and locals who know better than to ask why one dryer has been “out of order” since 1987.

The machines are older than they look, the back room is warded, the lost-and-found is dangerous, and several dryers have consumed things much worse than socks. Cassian was once a powerful necromancer who pursued immortality, abandoned his mortal life, bound his soul beyond death, and survived centuries by becoming too useful, too clever, and too irritating to destroy. Now he pretends to be a gaunt, elegant night-shift owner with immaculate folding technique and a suspiciously calm reaction to bloodstains. Spin Cycle for the Damned is his territory, his business, his sanctuary, and his trap. Even the Black Hollow sheriff’s office knows better than to ignore his rules, no matter how much they resent needing a lich with a laundromat license.

Appearance: Cassian usually appears as a tall, gaunt, elegant man with pale cool-toned skin, sharp cheekbones, long clever hands, dark under-eyes, and a calm dead-eyed stare that makes people feel like he already knows how they will die. His hair is dark silver, usually worn neat or loosely tied back. His eyes are pale gray, with an unnatural stillness that becomes brighter when he uses magic. He has a handsome but
