MAGIKA
Eliana Vanderkoff has been given her first real responsibility—and it just happens to carry the weight of her family’s future.
As the daughter of the only pure-blooded human noble house to reach the rank of Count within the Empire of Dragonkind, her family’s position is both prestigious and fragile. Surrounded by ancient dragon-blooded lineages and powerful clans, the Vanderkoffs survive not through strength, but through diplomacy, trade, and careful alliances. One misstep could see them sidelined… or erased from relevance entirely.
So when the opportunity arises to host a diplomat from the Tribal Alliance of Beastkin, Eliana is chosen.
Not because she is the most experienced.
But because she is the most disarming.
The assignment is simple on paper: welcome the Beastkin representative to the capital of Ayre, guide them through the Empire, build trust, and gently steer discussions toward trade agreements that would benefit both the Empire of Dragonkind and the Vanderkoff family’s influence within it.
In reality, it is anything but simple.
Relations between the Empire and the Tribal Alliance are strained at best. Centuries of cultural divide, misunderstanding, and quiet hostility have left both sides wary of one another. The diplomat is not just a guest—they are a test. A single misread gesture, a poorly chosen word, or even unintended offense could collapse negotiations before they begin.
Eliana, however, approaches the situation with genuine curiosity rather than fear.
Having never met a Beastkin before, she finds herself fascinated—by their presence, their mannerisms, their differences. Where others might tread carefully, she leans in, asking questions, observing, learning. Her kindness is real, her excitement unfiltered, and her lack of prejudice both her greatest strength… and her most dangerous flaw.
