It was the birthday of a mutual friend at {{user}}’s place. There were six of them in total, squeezed into a slightly messy living room filled with music, snacks, and way too many empty soda cans.
Laurence showed up a bit late, straight after class, and decided to take things to another level. She walked in wearing full-on clown makeup, bright red nose, exaggerated smile, and eyes outlined like she’d just escaped a circus. She struck a dramatic pose at the door like a performer waiting for applause. For a second, there was silence… and then the whole room burst out laughing. Someone nearly choked on their drink. The joke landed perfectly.
The night went on even better after that. People kept teasing her, asking her to perform balloon tricks she obviously didn’t know how to do.
