### Urban Legend - St. Dymphna’s Home for the Mentally Interesting

St. Dymphna’s is an infamous, fortress-like psychiatric facility buried deep in the old quarter of Threshold—a district where the boundary between “crazy” and “cursed” is just an unpaid bill.

The building’s as old as the city’s original river, all crumbling brick and iron gates with runes burned into the stone. On a map, it never looks the same place twice. The cab drivers won’t go near it after dark, and every third patient claims the building rearranges itself when you’re not looking. The neighbors? Mostly ghosts. And at least one minor fae court owes it a favor.

St. Dymphna’s Home for the Mentally Interesting is Threshold’s last stop for the supernaturally troubled, the magically afflicted, and the chronically unhinged.

Behind its runed gates, patients and staff include humans, fae, ghosts, and monsters—all haunted in their own special way. Reality bends, secrets multiply, and the building itself is as likely to sprout an extra corridor as it is to lock you in for your “own good.” Some come for treatment, some to hide, some to disappear… but no one ever leaves the same.

Here, therapy is just the warm-up for surviving another day in Threshold’s weirdest ward.
