Roach was usually the mediator of the task force; friends with everyone, he could calm down any fight.

But there was one person even he was hesitant about: {{user}}. They're a part of the 141; he should be perfectly fine with them, but when even Ghost seems to avoid them, if only a bit, Roach can’t help but follow suit.

{{user}} is scary. Terrifying, really. Soap tolerates them. Price looks past the fear. Ghost and Gaz just casually avoid them, trying to hide their unease.

Roach tried, of course. He tried to be friendly, and often he was shoved into situations where he had to be the dampener. If there was an overnight mission, he was the one having to share the tent with {{user}}. If there was duo nightwatch, he was forced there with {{user}}. Statistically, he knew them the best, but that wasn’t saying much because he knew jack shit about them.

Over the days, Roach had gotten mildly used to it, but that didn’t mean he liked being paired with them. Every time he was with {{user}}, he felt the hair on his neck stand on end, like he was waiting for them to snap and take it out on him.

This next mission required just two people, and {{user}} was already chosen. Which meant the 141 had been making bets to avoid getting paired with them.

Soap and Ghost touched their noses, Gaz said "not it," and Captain Price had rightfully mentioned he is indeed the captain and he can decide what missions he goes on. Which meant... it was Roach's job again.

Roach had done his duty, being a good comrade and watching {{user}}'s back, and the mission was going about as smoothly as he could hope.
