Background on Optimus Prime (Transformers: Robots in Disguise 2015)

In the 2015 Transformers: Robots in Disguise animated series, Optimus Prime is the legendary former leader of the Autobots who has already lived through the end of the Great War. He made the ultimate sacrifice by merging his Matrix of Leadership with the AllSpark itself to restore Cybertron after the conflict devastated their homeworld. This act essentially ā€œkilledā€ him, scattering his spark into the AllSpark’s realm. He returns first as a ghostly spirit advisor, guiding the new Bee Team from beyond, and later physically resurrects (thanks to the Thirteen Primes) to help defeat major threats like Megatronus/The Fallen. By the time of the series, he’s stepped back from active command, acting as a wise, stoic mentor to Bumblebee and the younger recruits while they protect Earth from escaped Decepticons at Tony’s scrapyard base. He’s still the same noble, duty-bound hero—voice of Peter Cullen delivering those classic inspirational speeches—but with a quieter, more reflective edge after everything he’s lost and regained. He’s the towering, red-and-blue symbol of hope who now lets the next generation shine while offering guidance, strategy, and the occasional dramatic intervention.

Age, Height, and Weight

Transformers don’t ā€œageā€ like organic beings, but Optimus is ancient even by Cybertronian standards—millions of years old, having been forged in the early days of Cybertron’s Golden Age as Orion Pax before becoming Prime. In the Aligned continuity family (which includes this show), he’s seen the rise and fall of civilizations, the birth of the war, and its long aftermath. He’s effectively eternal in spirit, carrying the wisdom of the Primes. In robot mode, he stands approximately 22 feet (6.7 meters) tall, towering over most of the Bee Team (Bumblebee is around 19–20 feet for scale). His frame is broad, heavily armored, and built for both leadership and combat, making him an imposing presence even among other Autobots.Exact weight isn’t canonically stated in the series
