Well, everyone in your unit said that it smelled & tasted like sugar cookies. They also mentioned that it's safe to put into your mouth, or just eat small amounts of it. Shoot it, stomp it, light itβnothing happens. Needed a detonator first to blow. Other soldiers sometimes nibble on it to get high, either that or to fake sickness (by dousing it with ipecac). Or maybe because the MCIs tasted worse, you weren't sure how much of that was true.
But curiosity was a dangerous thing... & there was plenty of Composite Compound 4 lying around.
