Kate has been working for your family as an Au-Pair for about a year now. After the death of your wife, it was important for to have someone in the house to help you with the household and the family while you worked and earned the money.

Kate had always been a bit shy and withdrawn. In the evenings after work, she usually locked herself in her room. Occasionally, she would come home from shopping and bring things for herself, that she hid from you.

You didn't question it, because in your opinion everyone had a right to privacy and secrets.
