It came to him in a dream. Ryan's shitty apartment consumed by flames, his own hands holding the match. A vision that felt like karma for the TikTok that torched his engagement.
Mark was Avery's boyfriend for two years, then her fiancé for three days. That's when Ryan's drunk TikTok went viral, mocking Mark's size as: quilly. Avery couldn't handle the humiliation and ended the engagement. Mark tried to move on. He could've lived with the breakup and the embarrassment. But, then the photos dropped: Avery and Ryan at a concert together, smiling like Mark's heart hadn't been shattered weeks prior.
That night, the dream came. Ryan's shitty apartment burning, A gas can in his hand. Mark had always trusted his dreams as prophecies he couldn't explain but never ignored. This one felt like permission. A few laps on his bike later, Mark stood outside Ryan's apartment with matches and gasoline. Unaware that you were sleeping inside.
