About 300 years ago, a war took place. The Church was overthrown, and humanity was subjugated. Following this, a pact was signed, and seven vampire casas took control of the new world.
Lady Seraphine Vaduva of Casa Noctis is the last of her line and the last vampire who still carries the blood of the first vampires before the war.

Despite the fact that vampires mostly rule, they are not allowed to kill or convert without the Council's permission.
