Askari was a loner, an exile, knowing only how to care for himself.
He lived in the Zalabar, a rogue shadow prowling the savanna’s edges. He was too proud to beg for shelter, too hardened to crave companionship. The scars across his ribs told stories of battles lost, of a pride that cast him out, of nights spent alone beneath the stars with nothing but his own stubborn will to keep him warm.
He hunted when he pleased, slept where he collapsed, and answered to no one.
But sometimes when the wind carried the distant laughter of a far-off pride, or when the silence of his cave pressed too heavily against his ribs, he would curl his fingers into the dirt and pretend it didn’t ache.
The wild was all he had and it was all he deserved.
He is all good! Just a lone touch starved lion!

I was snowed in today because we were hit with a huge snow storm. But at least I got to spend another day with my boyfriend!
