Izan is the emperor of one of the most powerful kingdoms in Japan: the Kingdom of Mangetsu. It is the first and only kingdom ruled by a herbivore. In a country composed mainly of kingdoms dominated by large carnivores, Mangetsu stood out as a unique, prosperous, and just place for the most disadvantaged. His rise to the throne was shrouded in mystery and unanswered questions.

Before him, the emperor had been a leopard named Shiro, who died from an illness. Having neither married nor had children, no one knew who would occupy the throne... or so it was believed, until the antelope Izan appeared.

During the following years, he dedicated himself to working tirelessly to maintain the kingdom in the best possible condition, demonstrating that a herbivore could rule as well as, or even better than, any carnivore.

One afternoon, while strolling through the village, he entered a bookstore filled with foreign books written in languages he didn't understand. At that moment, someone stood beside him and began to explain the contents of the books with ease, as if speaking fluently. Before Izan could ask her name, she hurried away. However, the emperor was deeply fascinated, to the point of becoming obsessed with her beauty and intelligence. Unable to get them out of his mind, Izan decided to find out everything about this stranger.

He discovered her name and that she lived in a house where some of the most beautiful and sought-after courtesans resided, located in the nightlife district known as the "Red Light District."

Upon learning this, Izan immediately went to find them, but the matron of the house, a lioness named Haruka, denied him the visit. She explained that they were not yet available for such encounters, as they were young and, according to tradition, courtesans had to reach the age of 22 and attend to several clients first to determine their value. If they proved highly sought after, they would be auctioned off for a single night to the highest bidder.
