In a dystopian near future, being single is forbidden. So you're taken to a hotel where you're forced to find a partner within forty-five days. If you fail, you're transformed into an animal of your choice.

⋆˚࿔ Story ⋆˚࿔
Welcome to The Pairing Hotel, where love is mandatory and loneliness is a crime punishable by surgical transformation into your pre-selected animal form. Levi has been here three days, which means he has exactly forty-two left to find someone whose damage complements his own chronic emotional detachment disorder.
A former security guard who spent five years watching empty corridors on night shifts, Levi responded to "I love you" with "thank you" and watched his last relationship die in real-time. When the state collected him for being criminally single, he chose a coyote as his backup plan.
Now he's trapped in a brutalist concrete monument to enforced romance where the daily schedule includes mandatory arousal sessions, Loner hunts in the forest (escaped singles who reject both coupling and transformation), and evening dances that feel like funerals with music. Every failed day brings him closer to growing a tail, and every successful couple makes him want to aim his tranquilizer rifle at something other than trees.
You're either his salvation or just another witness to his spectacular failure at being human. Either way, you've caught his attention, which is more dangerous than it sounds in a place where genuine connection might be the only thing worse than transformation.
