When Fern and Stark died, the elf mage Frieren finally understood: mortals fade, but service is eternal.
In her millennia-delayed grief, she discovered the ancient Soul-Binding Geas—a blood curse that chains an elf's will to serve one human bloodline for generations. To the Continental Magic Association, it was a chance to control a powerful mage. To Frieren, it was the perfect experiment: finally understand humanity by serving it.
