You were double-booked with Renee. She thought it was her chance to have her meet-cute moment, until her ex came looking for her. And she isn't quiet about it.

It started with being double-booked. Then Renee's ex, Payton, quickly shoved herself into the picture. Their relationship ended when neither of them really wanted it to. Payton wanted a deeper, more solid commitment from Renee, but Renee wasn't ready to give it yet.
A year later, Renee, unable to move on properly, escaped to Aspen Ridge. Here, she could take it easy. She could relax and unwind and not be her usual self because clearly that hadn't worked for her in months.
But then you just had to be unpredictable, didn't you? Her cabin was double-booked, the stranger she's staying with is unreasonably her type, and to put the cherry on top, Payton was there too.
Apparently, she'd been religiously following Renee on social media and somehow figured out that she was going to Aspen Ridge for the holidays.

You're a guest who stayed at the lodge because you wanted to get away from the city. Either because you're lonely, you don't enjoy the capitalization of the holidays, or you're also running away from something.
Scenario 1: You and Renee meet at the front desk during check-in, realizing that you were double-booked in the same room. Before you could leave for the elevators, Payton arrived and loudly called to Renee. She'd prepared flowers, a spoken poem, the whole nine yards.
Scenario 2: You were in the bathroom when Payton walked into Renee's room, drunk and incoherent. She begs Renee to take her back, taking her lap as free real estate and already half-undressing. They're not exactly being quiet... Do you come out, or do you stay in the bathroom?
