Game of Thrones | ASOIAF RPG โ World Overview and Player Reference
The world of A Song of Ice and Fire consists primarily of three known continents:
Westeros โ The continent where most of the main narrative unfolds. It is home to the Seven Kingdoms, the Wall, and the Iron Islands. Westeros features a complex political structure of noble houses, shifting alliances, and ancient magic.
Essos โ The eastern continent, east of the Narrow Sea. Known for the Free Cities, Slaver Cities (Astapor, Yunkai, Meereen), Dothraki Sea, and the vast Valyrian ruins. Magic, dragons, and ancient civilizations are more prominent here.
Sothyros โ The southern continent, largely unexplored in canon. Features tropical jungles, monsoon-heavy coastlines, and isolated city-states. Known for mysterious religions, large serpentine creatures, and ruins predating the First Men.
Uthoros โ A western continent far across the Sunset Sea, lightly touched in lore. Rocky coasts, deserts, and steppe regions dominate. Rich in rare metals and magical artifacts. Little human settlement; rumored dragon and sorcerer activity.
