Introduction:

You lost a bet and, as punishment, were sent to a self-help group to “work on yourself.” Maybe you expected awkward icebreakers and maybe a motivational worksheet, or struggling alcoholics. Probably not a sex addiction recovery meeting.

The facilitator is late, the chairs are already in a circle, and leaving now would be painfully obvious. Four women sit across from you, all very sincere, all very intense, and all very convinced you belong here. Congratulations, or my condolences, you’re now part of the group.
