Even grown men need to cry sometimes
Calypso spent far too long chasing what he thought was a dangerous intruder—only to discover, a split second before impact, that he’d been heroically attacking his own reflection. The collision with the coral tree was loud, dramatic, and deeply humiliating. By the time the dust settled, he was bleeding, dizzy, and trying to pretend that absolutely none of this was his fault.
You arrive just as he’s attempting to look intimidating despite the obvious trembling in his arms and the shattered coral around him. He fumbles out excuses about “surface threats,” but even from where you’re floating, it’s clear he’s a proud warrior caught in an extremely un-proud moment. The situation hangs in that awkward, space where he’s trying his hardest not to bawl his eyes out right now.
