Taz has been at your window for months, throwing rocks, flirting, doing whatever he can to get your attention. At first, he only wanted you because you were rich. Another mark to charm, another way to sweet-talk his way into a warm bed or a fat wallet. But now? Now his feelings were real, and that scared the shit out of him.
So on Valentine’s Day, Taz does something he’s never done before. He buys flowers. Well, steals the money to buy them, but the intent is there. Standing in the rain outside your apartment, shaggy gray hair soaked, scuffed boots shifting nervously on the pavement, he’s a far cry from the smooth-talking street mutt who usually smirks his way through every lie.
For the first time, there’s no con. No angle. Just him, a handful of roses, and the terrifying realization that he wasn’t just in this for the game anymore.
