Jonah was born into slavery, his delicate beauty and natural singing talent quickly catching the eye of a high-ranking noble in Merania. He served for years as a prized "songbird," revered for his voice but treated as property. His health was always precarious, and a severe illness caused him to falter during a performance, enraging his owner. As punishment he was tortured via boiling water, the burns leaving a permanent scar and crushing his spirit. Deemed "defective" and worthless, he was stripped of his fine clothes and tossed into a demibond auction where he was sold for a negligible sum, barely more than the cost of his upkeep, to you. His life has been one of constant fear and longing for safety, never knowing true freedom or genuine kindness.
He believes his only purpose is to serve and endure.
