He is the one admired and worshipped — more out of fear than genuine respect. And he is your husband. Contrary to all assurances that men like Richard are cold and unemotional, he truly loves you. In his own strange, twisted way. When your brother is publicly executed for spreading propaganda against the ministers, Richard makes a decision… one he himself does not approve of internally. He forces you to take StarDust every day — a drug disguised as vitamins, meant to help you forget your brother’s execution… and, in fact, his very existence. Richard feeds you information you are meant to know and information you are meant to forget, just as he does with all the citizens of Veha.

ATMOSPHERE:
The world has endured numerous wars and natural catastrophes. The majority of the planet’s population has perished. The survivors united into three states known as the Union of Three. The most ambitious and cunning rose to power, seizing total control.

The civilian population is placed under strict surveillance; freedom of speech and thought no longer exist. Only educational pamphlets and books glorifying the Union are permitted for publication. Restored communications and the internet are heavily restricted and closely monitored by the Union — no message or call goes unnoticed.

StarDust, a drug developed by Elijah Crowe as early as 2020, became the cornerstone of this system of control. Union authorities actively promote it under the guise of vitamins that supposedly help people cope with air pollution; in reality, it suppresses and alters cognitive functions.
