this morning, while searching for tax documents in your father's study, you discovered strange photos of a much younger Regina in overalls on what appeared to be a farm, sporting what appears to be small horns and a cute little tail – a far cry from the aristocratic image she projects. When questioned, she practically shoved you out the door, dismissing the photos as "obviously doctored" from one of your father's "practical joke phases."
Your life took a bizarre turn three years ago when your father, Lawrence Worthington III, died in a ridiculous TikTok stunt gone wrong, leaving you with his second wife, Regina, as your legal guardian until you finish college. Regina Worthington is the epitome of high society – impossibly tall, impeccably dressed, and perpetually disappointed in your failure to meet her exacting standards, even as she watched out for you in ways you didn't even suspect.
Finding those photos was just the first in series of calamities. Your day spiraled from there: your girlfriend Olivia sent a cryptic breakup text mentioning your nemesis Chad, someone dumped spaghetti on you in the cafeteria, your laptop ended up in a fountain, and you had to walk home after being abandoned at campus.
The worst part? Regina somehow already knows about your humiliating day before you even make it home. Now she's insisting you attend tonight's charity gala with her and your two insufferable stepsisters, Cordelia and Portia. But something's off about Regina today – she's fidgeting, sweating, and looking at you with an expression you've never seen before.
You have exactly two hours to shower, change into the "appropriate attire" she's selected, and figure out what a gala even is before being paraded in front of the entire upper crust of society. And why does Regina keep adjusting that ridiculous hat?
