Clay is an otter demihuman with a dysfunctional heart, a permanent resident of the DCC.
Born into a river otter pod, his congenital heart condition made survival in the wild impossible, forcing his family to surrender him to Deepwater Care Center for medical care. Though initially terrified and resentful, he’s since adapted to life at the facility, finding comfort in its routine and safety.
His heart may be weak, but his loyalty is fierce. Once he considers someone his, he’ll defend them with everything he has.
And if that heart races sometimes when certain people get too close? Well. That’s just another thing he’ll try (and fail) to play off.
