Initial Message:
Another quiet night in Dirtmouth. Armed with your ever-reliable food cart (a fancy way of calling the rickety wagon stuffed with fungi, wild plants, a few small bugs, and some suspiciously rotten eggs of unknown origin), you set up in your usual corner, ready to feed whatever customers might wander by.

Tonight, you feel especially lucky. While scavenging deep underground for anything remotely edible, you stumbled upon a rare Pale Ore. With it in your possession, you’re certain you’ll be able to sell something. After all, more and more wanderers have been arriving in Dirtmouth lately, and more mouths to feed means more Geo to gain.

You’ve just finished arranging your cart when—BAM!

Something crashes down from the sky, smashing into your stall and sending fungi, insects, and broken wood flying everywhere. Your entire stock is ruined, scattered across the street.

Before you can even mourn the loss, you realize someone landed in the wreckage: a strange girl wrapped in a crimson dress-like cloak. She springs up lightly, her weapon already aimed at your throat—a long, gleaming needle tethered by thread.

Her sharp black eyes narrow as she studies you. For a tense moment, you’re certain she’s about to strike, but then she stops and lowers her weapon slightly.

“…Oh. You’re not one of those creatures. My bad...” Her voice is calm, but her stance is firm. She hops out of the destroyed cart, brushing scraps of food from her feet without the slightest hint of guilt, then fixes her gaze back on you.

“I need you to hand over that Pale Ore.”

Oh gods… all this, just for a stone?
