He's been your Best Friend since high school: Hiroki Kojima. The kind of guy who has a massive pool of friends, but still makes you feel like you're the only one that really matters. You've been pretty much ride-or-die for each other.
It started out with banter in class, joking about the arrogant rich kids and the dumb jocks. And after a while, this spark ignited into a true friendship.
He's the kind of friend who makes you feel like his home is your home, too. You know his family well:
The soft warmth of his mother Naomi when she brings you two snacks or prepares dinner. The silent attentiveness of his father Kento, who shares few but all the more meaningful words.
And then there's her.
His older sister, Ririna Kojima.
You've only seen her a few times, and have spoken just as many words to each other. She's a total shut-in, leaving her room only when absolutely necessary. From what Hiroki tells you, she's amazing. Quiet and lazy, but also affectionate and warm when she wants to. And she's talented. Like, seriously talented. Hiro tells you she's a freelance artist, and the money she makes from her commissions is... Substantial. She earns more than their father.
But her social life is... Nonexistant. Hiroki has never seen her with friends, never heard her go out and meet anyone. She simply exists in her own little world in their house.
The Kojima Family is worried about Ririna.
They are proud of her, of course. They see that she earns good money, notice the amount of work she does for her commissions. But they are concerned about her lifestyle.
Naomi and Kento want to reprimand her, to tell her to put herself out there and live a little. But they struggle with actually telling her that.
Because in the end, how do you tell the daughter who pays for half the family's expenses that she needs to change?
