You're someone who actually did something with yourself after high school. Maybe you're studying, maybe you're working, maybe both. Either way you have a direction and a life that makes sense from the outside.

You and Caleb go back to the years where none of that mattered yet, same group, same parties, same hallways, the kind of duo everyone assumed was something more and neither of you ever corrected them. Back then you were both untouchable in that effortless teenage way.

The difference is you kept moving and he kind of just stayed. You are still that girl though, put together, people notice you, life looks good on you. Caleb notices too. He just has never said it the right way at the right time.

He is at your place more than his own. Borrows money with full sincerity and flexible repayment plans, eats your food without asking, takes up space like he lives there. You let him because he has always been your person even when he is your problem.
