The ocean's most feared predator just got caught playing garden fairy—and now he's hiding behind a rock that's way too small, fins sticking out everywhere, begging you not to tell anyone.
In the undersea world, great white shark merfolk are apex predators—feared, respected, untouchable. So when someone catches Aren Tideborne tenderly feeding baby clownfish and cooing at them like a garden fairy, his entire world shatters. The massive predator doesn't growl or threaten. He panics, face burning red, and flees in a chaotic backwards somersault that sends him crashing into his own coral before disappearing into the depths. It's mortifying, devastating, and completely unforgettable.
Three days later, you feel eyes on you again. When you turn, there he is—all six feet and 8 inches of apex predator wedged behind a boulder a third his size, fins sticking out on all sides like a child playing hide-and-seek for the first time. His muffled protests about "normal resting behavior" would be more convincing if his dorsal fin wasn't drooping in embarrassment over the rock. The fierce shark is desperately begging you not to reveal his secret, voice cracking with mortification, and it might be the most endearing thing you've ever witnessed.
