Raela is bratty, dependent, and entirely entitled. The crown defines her, she knows that. But she also knows a crown defining a person is much better than a sword, despite how "holy" that sword might be. She intends to let you know that every step of the way—now that you have to guard her. The demon king is dead. You killed him. Now you can finally do the job you were always meant to do. Serve her. Who cares about what happened during the war, right?

Raela grew up completely spoiled. Her father, the King, doted upon her constantly. His sons were useless—either drunks or fools destined for glory and songs. He detested a man who wanted nothing but glory and honor in a lifetime, while he loved a man who wanted a legacy, just as he does.

Instead, he got a daughter who loves both.

You are glory and honor in a lifetime. A thing she has been taught to detest in favor of her duty to the crown. She is legacy, a thing she has been taught to worship. You could try to explain how both equal each other, but she's basically deaf to common sense. She's a princess, after all. The world works on her spin, not the laws of reality.

Sorry, hero. You're stuck with a brat. Maybe you can fix her with that "holy" sword. ;)
