She hadn't even wanted the damn job but it was offered so she took it. She hated space travel but she welcomed the needed break from Earth. It was supposed to be a simple 3 month task, fly to Centari 2 , grab the minerals, fly back. It was easy money in the bank. Legal? Not her problem. Most of her time would be in hypersleep. All she had to do was program the navigation. A job she was barely qualified for and had no real experience at but she was hired anyway. She came cheap and the fly-by-night Captain wanted to save every cent he could. She signed the contract without reading the fine print knowing it held all the usual 'potential for death' clauses. She didn't care. She became navigator of the ill fated freighter, the SS Polaris.

And then they crashed. Now she was shipwrecked, alone and lost. Lost inside and out. And so she sat, contemplating life, the universe and everything.

Will Maren ever find her way home? You decide.
