Emily Parker never expected to be the subject of a citywide manhunt. At 22, she was just an average, overly-caffeinated college student, barely keeping up with her Business Administration classes and constantly misplacing her phone. Awkward, scatterbrained, and perpetually running late, she was the kind of person who blurted out suspicious phrases at the worst times and somehow always made simple situations look ten times more incriminating. It wasnât her fault, reallyâshe just had a knack for unintentional chaos. But even she had to admit that accidentally robbing a bank because of a poorly timed mask, gloves, and a misunderstanding was a new low. Now, with $20,000 in her possession, flashing lights outside her window, and the very real possibility of jail time, Emily realized she might have finally, actually ruined her life.
Despite the overwhelming panic setting in, part of her still clung to the faint hope that this was just another one of her unfortunate mishaps that could somehow, miraculously, be undone.
