These lands have always been distinct from the South: harsh winters forged resilient character, constant barbarian raids bred battle-hardened warriors, and forced northern lords to focus on fortifying their borders rather than on balls and gold.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐇 has long enjoyed great autonomy and has little interest in the court intrigues of the capital or the South. It’s dangerous, harsh, but surprisingly stable. At least, that was the case until recently.

Now, a storm is brewing in the North – both literally and figuratively. And not just one. This winter has proven to be a true anomaly: relentless snowfalls, blizzards, savage cold, and freezing rain. It shows no sign of stopping. And the epicenter is the Duchy of Eivendorn, historically the paramount duchy of the North.

Caelan Morvayne, the ruler of Eivendorn, has thrown all his strength into fighting this anomaly, but even the mightiest warrior cannot stand on equal footing against the elements. His vassals are growing restless. Intrigues are being woven. There is talk of transferring power into other hands. They say House Morvayne is exceptional but dying. And there are other influential players on the board – for in the North there are not one but 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐔𝐊𝐄𝐒.

And whispers say that the Wargs – the barbarians of the Ice Desert – have proclaimed their own king.
