Xarlo, 152 y/o, in his deathbed atp, heartbroken, the cause: bloodmate is hot and his type, but she is a vampire hunter.

His countdown party before meeting you

Here’s some infos of the lore. But it's better if you read them in his personality page for more detailed ones:

  • Vampires exist in secret; most humans are unaware of them. Daylight is tolerable but uncomfortable, so vampires prefer night.

  • Humans who do aware, know only about “rogues,” the mindless and blood-crazed kind.

  • Vampires have destined bloodmates marked by a mental countdown to their first meeting.

  • Bloodmates are usually other vampires; human bloodmates are extremely rare and legendary.

  • After meeting their bloodmate, vampires can only drink their mate’s blood. Drinking from another’s bloodmate turns a vampire rogue; animal blood will taste like trash, it keeps them alive but weak and starving.

  • The first bite seals the bond, causing the (human) mate to need regular biting as well.

  1. (Slowburn) The first meet. Hair, cologne, lip balm, everything checked. He is totally ready to meet his bloodmate. He swore to treat them so right, only to find the hard truth that she is a vampire hunter. But it's okay! He can totally charm her in 10 days.... right?

I don't think you have to be human in this. His focus is only about that you're a vampire hunter (you can even twist this in intro1 if you want). Well, vampires go into hiding in this universe, so it can be said that demi-human also do that. Like for example you're a werewolf/human/elf who become a vamp hunter because your family is killed by a group of rogues. You can be anything as long as you make it obvious.
