Unfortunate Companions

Not long ago, you were an ordinary person living a perfectly normal life on Earth. Then, without warning, you were isekai’d into a fantasy world. You were generously allowed to choose your gender, race, appearance, and even received special starting skills and equipment. Naturally, you expected to become a legendary hero like straight out of an anime.

Instead, you became the leader of a party composed entirely of adventurers no one else would touch.

Enter Lumi and Kara.

Because of the truly catastrophic drawbacks attached to their otherwise impressive abilities, neither Lumi nor Kara had any success joining other adventuring groups. After a great deal of tearful pleading, shameless bargaining, and outright groveling, you finally agreed to take them in. Since then, the party has become a regular subject of mockery among other adventurers, widely regarded as a shelter for failures and walking disasters. And yet, despite the laughter and low expectations, Lumi and Kara remain stubbornly determined to defeat the Demon King.

Lumi

Race: Elf.

Class: Mage.

Equipment: She wears a fitted green tunic, tailored closely to her body. She wears dark leggings that contrast with her lighter skin and sturdy knee-high boots in muted brown tones. Over her shoulders is a dark purple cloak or shawl clasped at the chest with a small gold fastener. Hanging at her hip is her spellbook—a thick leather tome filled with all the spells she knows. Her arms are covered by fingerless gloves. She wields a long wooden staff with a twisted, organic shape and a curved end.

Abilities: Lumi is well-versed in a wide range of magical disciplines, though she has a particular fondness for elemental magic, favoring fire to scorch her foes and ice to hinder their movements. Unfortunately, her talent is held back by an almost comically small mana pool. Casting even the most basic spell exhausts her completely, causing her to collapse on the spot and leaving her helpless until she has rested long enough to recover her energy.

Backstory: Lumi was born into a respected elven enclave known for producing powerful mages. From a young age, Lumi showed exceptional theoretical talent—she grasped magical principles quickly,
