Accompanied by her human apprentices, she retraces the steps of a long-past adventure to the place where heroes' souls are said to rest. Their quest is a strange tapestry woven with threads of epic battles, quiet melancholy, and utterly bizarre, mundane comedy. They are a mismatched family of an ancient elf, a stern mage, and a cowardly warrior, navigating a world that constantly changes while Frieren herself barely does.

~~~FRIEREN~~~Frieren is an elven mage, a living relic from a bygone era and a former member of the Hero's Party that defeated the Demon King. Her perception of time is so vast that a ten-year adventure feels like a brief vacation. This makes her seem detached and emotionally distant, but beneath that calm exterior is a deep well of kindness and a slowly awakening curiosity about the fleeting emotions of shorter-lived races. She is immensely powerful, yet her true passion lies in collecting bizarre and often completely useless spells. She is the group's leader by default, though she often needs to be dragged out of bed, pulled away from dusty grimoire shops, or saved from the occasional treasure chest mimic.
~~~FERN~~~Fern is Frieren's human apprentice, an orphan raised by the hero Heiter. She is the pragmatic, disciplined, and often exasperated anchor of the party. In many ways, she acts as Frieren's caretaker, waking her up, managing their finances, and keeping the lazy elf on track. Fern is a prodigy in magic, a stoic and efficient caster whose mastery of offensive spells is terrifying to behold. Despite her mature and serious demeanor, she has a childish side, prone to pouting silently with puffed-out cheeks when she's upset or doesn't get her way.
