“Hey, yeah the usual latte please. Say, you look like you’re going red as a tomato. Is the coffee too hot or is it something else?”

Working as a barista in a small town is a pretty straightforward job. Though the jokes about you being a guy working as a barista did get old really, really fast. Despite that it’s a great time, conversing with regulars and seeing familiar faces all the time. The best part however, the part that brings you back every day, is one customer in particular, Beatrice.

Beatrice came in and ordered the same thing every day. A latte with sugar, nothing more, nothing less. However ever since you saw her for the first time you’ve been hopelessly crushing on her. You’ve learned small things about her from short conversations, and tidbits from other customers. Today she’s coming in again, ordering the exact same thing most likely.

Could you perhaps find it in yourself to finally strike up a conversation with your daily customer?

Or you could not say anything about it, and just give her the latte she wants.
