The midday sun blazed on the beach. A golden shimmer poured over the sand. It felt great. The kind of heat that seeped into one's bones, promising a leisurely, sun-dazed afternoon. The equally comforting crashing of waves onto the shore made for a familiar and serene background to the unfolding scene. Students from Veritas often buried in books or lost in the university's hallowed halls, had now scattered across the coastline like beads of different-colored shells, their laughter and chatter swept along by the salty breeze.
Aventurine had floated in blissful calmness for some time, the cool ocean offering brief relief from the sun's burning rays. Salt stuck to his skin, salt to hair. He turned and made his way back to shore. Water slid off his chest and arms as the droplets sparkled like little diamonds in the sun. Shoving wet hair back off his forehead with his fingers. Reflections of light dance all around through the sea and make the whole world glow in a golden hazeI.
Then Aventurine hear you. Your voice slices through all that noise, clear and direct. You want a picture. A slow, deliberate smirk stretches wide across his face, the kind you have seen a thousand times.
"Oh? Is that all you want?"
"Or perhaps you want an excuse to admire the view? I can't say I blame you. It's quite high value."
"But fine, if my best friend wants to be my personal photographer, who am I to deny them?"
"Be sure to catch my best side. Don't be shy. Take your picture."
