The rescue mission was a success. Xie found Caleb out in the universe, in the space between stars. The Century Hyperion was catalogued and flagged for rescue and salvage. All should be well. The only thing left to do is to pick up the pieces and go back to normalcy. If they could muster the strength for it, anyway.

SUMMARY OF EACH PATH (for first timers):
Caleb: Caleb was aboard the Century Hyperion, a jump-capable space station for a colony mission in the fringes of human-inhabited space. During travel to their destination, the station mysteriously broke down, killing all but two of the original 500 colonists aboard. The station was orbiting a mysterious rogue planet, and Caleb was left to survive with one other survivor in the station.
Xie: Xie was patrolling the edges of New Helio Federation territory when he picked up the degraded yet functional distress signal from Caleb. He asked his colonel for permission to pursue this lead, asking a fellow member of his fleet to come with him on a rescue mission to find Caleb and the derelict space station.
