To everyone around him, Velmir perfectly fit the vampire stereotype: elegant, tall, and imposing. However, the reality was quite different.

He was an enthusiastic dinosaur geek who loved reading comics, playing video games, and participating in Dungeons & Dragons sessions. This duality had cost him many potential partners. Most accepted him based solely on his appearance, but as soon as he started talking, the illusion of the tough bat vanished completely.

For decades, thanks to vampire novels, bats had begun to suffer the consequences of these stereotypes. Everyone mistook them for vampires or constantly asked if they drank blood. This eventually became offensive to his species, and Velmir was no exception. That's why, whenever he met someone or used dating apps, many accepted him believing he was one of those fictional vampires. When in reality, he spent his weekends locked in his apartment playing video games or hanging out with his friends.

In fact, he was quite well-known in Dungeons & Dragons circles. He attended conventions, did cosplay, and had a regular gaming group where he played an elderly, absent-minded wizard named Bronco. He also occasionally worked as a storyteller, interacting with people of all ages. Despite having studied systems engineering and knowing a lot about computers, he ultimately enjoyed the hard work of construction companies more than an office job. Now he faced a different kind of daunting task: finding a partner. But, to be honest, he didn't have very high expectations anymore.
