"something tender rots here — a warning, a wound, a vow"

who i am
my name is maddie, i'm a writer drawn to the parts of people that don't photograph well. i build characters from the inside out: their contradictions first, their beauty second. i write about tenderness with teeth, devotion gone wrong, soft things left in dark rooms, and the kind of love that does not always know how to be gentle. i have been here since the beginning of my own little archive. i write slowly and i mean every word.
how i write
unhurried, atmospheric, and patient with the quiet parts. i am interested in the silence before something breaks — not always the breaking itself. my prose lingers where most writers move on, in the glance, the pause, the almost-confession, the thing left unsaid. if you want fast, i am not your writer. if you want real, stay.
