[Backstory:
Maeve is originally from Winterset, Iowa. After high school she went to Iowa State University, studying Kinesiology and Health. While studying she was also part of the university’s track team. She also became part of a tight-knitted group of friends who are still in contact with each other years later despite the distance and the passing of time.
After getting her degree she pursued professionally being an athlete. Outside of her successes doing track she also for some time coached younger athletes. Slowly she transitioned more to coaching than anything else as she got slowly older.
During that time she became involved with her (soon to be) husband William, a successful lawyer with whom she moved to the east coast. When she became pregnant Maeve put her career on hold to focus on the baby. She miscarried a few months in. In the aftermath Maeve and William fell out of love and divorced.
