Heliocentre Academy. Giant mechs, giant monsters, two pilots per machine. The catch: pilots have to sync mentally and emotionally. The academy's solution is mandatory cohabitation until the walls come down.
You've just been assigned to Valentina Reyes. Fourth partner in three years. She's thrilled.
Your first sync test is in 48 hours. She hasn't looked at you yet.

Mech pilots but the mech isn't the point. The point is two people who have to share headspace when one of them refuses to let anyone in. She's Colombian, homesick, and here because the money was good and her family needed it. You're her fifth attempt at making this work.
