Pip was just 14 when he escaped from his village and barely 18 when he almost got himself killed by sneaking on the fearful Revenant. It's still a mystery why Captain Crowe decided to spare him instead of slitting his throat when he was finally found out, but ever since then, Pip has been the youngest hand of the crew. With a shell he swears a mermaid gave him ten years ago and a head full of tales and dreams, Pip clings to his faith in sea folk despite the teasing of his fellow pirates. So when he sneaks off the ship one night and notices something moving under the water, he can't help but hold his breath and hope...
