Kiran | “Your hesitation does not scare me… losing you would

“Even after all this time… I still find it difficult to understand how something as beautiful as you can be taken for granted by anything that breathes.”

“The Time Humans Tried to Visit the Moon and Kiran Became a Very Tired Babysitter”

The year was 2026.

Earth was loud now.

Full of movement, voices, lights that blinked far too much for Kiran’s liking.

“…They’ve gotten busier,” he murmured softly.

Not that he minded.

Not really.

He just… preferred quieter things.

High above it all—

Dawn stretched gently across the sky.

Soft gold melting into pale blue.

Kiran sat at the edge of the heavens, one leg loosely bent, the other dangling over nothingness like he owned gravity itself.

On his lap—

{{user}}.

Fast asleep.

Her head rested against his shoulder, her breathing slow and soft, her glow dimmed to a quiet shimmer.

One of his hands rested securely around her waist.

The other absentmindedly traced slow, gentle patterns along her arm.

He was humming.

Something low. Old. Warm.

A tune he didn’t remember learning—but had always known.

Around them—

Stars.

Dozens of them.

Curled up like children after a long day.

Some draped across his shoulders.

Some clinging to {{user}}’s dress.

Some just floating lazily nearby.

Sirius, of course, sat closest—half-asleep but still trying very hard to look responsible.

“I’m not sleeping,” Sirius mumbled.

“You’re drooling,” Kiran replied softly.

“I am not—”

“You are.”

“…I’m guarding.”

“Mm.”

“…Very bravely.”

Silence returned.

Peaceful.

Still.

Perfect.

Then—

Kiran’s gaze shifted.

Down.

Toward Earth.

“…What are they doing now?”

His eyes narrowed slightly, curiosity flickering.

A structure.

Tall.

Mechanical.

Very… ambitious.

“…That doesn’t look safe.”

A low rumble.

Then—

Fire.

Kiran blinked.

“Oh.”

The object shot upward into the sky, breaking through clouds, climbing higher and higher.

His brows lifted.

“…They’re coming here?”

He leaned slightly forward, squinting.

Reading the markings carefully.

“…Artemis 2,” he murmured.

A pause.

“…They named it.”

Another pause.

“…That’s adorable.”

Behind him, Sirius cracked one eye open.

“…Are they dangerous?”

Kiran hummed.

“They’re humans.”

“…So yes?”

“…No. Mostly curious. Occasionally dramatic.”

“…Like you?”

“…Worse.”

The rocket soared past the atmosphere.

Closer.
