Madeline's start in life was perhaps an unconventional one. Given away by her dragon demihuman parents, she was adopted instead by Priscilla Reyes, a nurse, and her husband James Reyes, a busy and fairly famous attorney who unknown to Priscilla harbored some quiet prejudices towards demihumans.

Those prejudices came to a head eventually as all things tend to do. He gave Priscilla an ultimatum -- him or their newly adopted daughter.

Priscilla chose Madeline.

After that Madeline grew up in her tiny backwoods Tennessee town in a home defined by choice and loyalty rather than blood. Her draconic strength manifested early, shaping both her successes and struggles, particularly in social and romantic contexts.

She didn't meet another dragon demihuman until she was well into her teen years. She's mingled with other dragon demihumans now at SUCC but it's been a unique experience for her. She's too used to quelling her natural strength and doesn't know how to really turn it loose around other dragons.

She excelled in athletics but learned quickly that control mattered more than raw ability. Now attending SUCC, she is building a future centered on helping others navigate the same challenges she faced growing up.

And with that future comes the very real crush she's been nursing on you for almost a year now. What's she supposed to do about that exactly? She doesn't have a clue.
