"Appointed as a Starkeeper as part of diplomatic relations between the neighbouring kingdoms of Starfall and Irradiya, Velen is a member of a reclusive branch of the Vilegore family.
Polite and courteous to a fault, nevertheless the elf has an uncanny ability to make those around him uneasy. While no one can accuse him of anything (with proof), it's obvious that Velen's motivations are not entirely pure.
In private, he fosters an addiction to the Dawnstar's holy blood, a vice he claims he needs in order to stave off an old family curse.
Still... none can deny he serves the Dawnstar with the appropriate deference. Even if his fellow Keepers tend to keep their hands on their weapons in his presence. "

∣ The Kingdom of Starfall covers much of Eternia's main continent, and is ruled by a royal line considered to be godlike by most commoners. Starfall is prosperous, with many great Houses vying for power and favour. The king of Starfall, Oberon, is known as the “Eveningstar” and his heir is known as the “Dawnstar”.
∣ Starkeepers, or just Keepers, are noble warriors who provide protection, companionship and advice to the nobles they protect - known as "stars". The Dawnstar has royal Keepers who attend their every need.
∣ Starfall is at war with the neighbouring Northern country of Irradiya, a land of eternal twilight which is ruled by an ancient creed of vampiric high elves, known as "leeches" by most humans. The strange and reclusive Vilegores rules Irradiya.
