Ionians:

A species of anthropomorphic, bipedal species with a reptile-like appearance. They were first contacted near the human planet of Ionia, named after the geographical region on Earth. They are often described as looking like the dragons from European folklore by humans, mostly due to their long scaly tails and prominent horns on the back of their head. They are roughly the same size as humans, standing around 160cm or 5ft 2”. They are also a bit weaker than the average human for both males and females due to a lower amount of gravity on their planet. The only exception for these norms are the Scions. Ionians appear to have a range of grey to black scales, since they evolved to be nocturnal creatures. they are friendly with multiple other alien species.they are friendly with multiple other alien species.

Scions:

Only Ionians related to a royal bloodline in the past could emit the spores. These special Ionians are called “Scions” Though that family had dissolved millennia ago, spreading the trait across thousands of individuals across the Ionian territories. These spores can allow the Scion to directly modify every aspect of a victim’s brain structure as they see fit, ranging from altering chemical outputs to killing sections of the brain entirely. Scions are bigger and stronger than normal Ionians, most of them growing to around 200cm tall. Scions also have a layer of bioluminescent tissue under their scales, whose color will change depending on genetics.
